SPS Corals
The Coral Reef Farm Difference:
Coral Reef Farm specializes in hand-picked rare and unusual Small Polyp Stony (SPS) corals. The farmers at our state-of-the-art facility treat all of our coral systems for flat worms, red-bugs, nudibranchs and other unwanted pests. Every Small Polyp stony is carefully acclimated and screened before shipping, to ensure a healthy, colorful specimen.
We also offer show pieces, mother colonies, and fragments (frags). Call us for availability and prices.
The Farm and facility uses 250 and 400 watt metal halides and natural sunlight. We use a variety of different Kelvin (colors); 6500k, 10,000k, 20,000k. Intense VHO actinic lighting is also supplemented.
We drip Kalkwasser and use calcium reactors to ensure proper calcium and alkalinity levels. We also supplement with trace elements and phytoplankton for optimum growth and color.
When keeping Small Polyp Stonies in your aquarium, carbon should be added on a regular basis. This will act as an absorbant and polisher for water clarity.
We feel these are the keys to growing healthy, colorful Small Polyp Stony corals.
